This is the house that had a structure fire at 4:45am on Sunday 03/03/2013

The fire caused heavy damage to the second floor.

The Harford fire chief says the smell of smoke woke up the family. Everyone inside got out safely.

The fire chief says smoke detectors in the home were not working.

The cause is under investigation, but the fire chief says it appears to be accidental.

On 3-3-13 at about 11:23AM the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to 26345 463rd Ave for a family dispute. The S.D. Highway patrol also responded to assist. As deputies tried to take the male subject, Kim Halverson, into custody he pulled a knife out of his pocket and displayed it to the officers. Halverson then turned around and ran into the middle of the section. More units from the Sheriff’s Office and the Highway Patrol arrived to assist. After about 26 minutes Halverson surrendered to the officers. Halverson was taken to the Minnehaha County Jail and lodged for Simple Assault Domestic, Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, and Resisting Arrest.
