Updated Snow Storm

A blizzard is expected to affect portions of the Plains beginning tonight and continuing through Monday morning. Rain and snow is expected to move into eastern South Dakota and eastern Nebraska this evening and spread into western Minnesota and western Iowa during the night. As colder air moves to the east later tonight and Sunday rain will mix with and change to snow. Accompanying the colder air will be north winds of 25 to 45 mph. While snow will diminish tonight, the strong winds are expected to continue into Monday morning. This will bring blizzard conditions to central and northeast South Dakota. Depending on how much snow falls, blizzard conditions could spread as far south as Yankton and Sioux Falls as well as into southern Minnesota. If planning travel later tonight through Monday, stay tuned to the latest forecasts and be prepared to postpone your trip until conditions improve.
